What is Earth Dream?
So what is EarthDream.co.uk all about? Well it's about the one inescapable truth. The one thing that unites every person regardless of creed, culture or religion, every plant and every creature. That is that we share the same planet. We can't leave. As the dominant species we owe it to ourselves and every living creature now and for future generations not to fuck it up. That is our dream, that the Earth will take priority over personal power, territorial and idealogical conflict and the insanity of the human condition. Mankind has unrivalled power to create and an unprecedented ability to destroy.
It's another climate change site then?
No. Well yes. A bit. Climate Change is obviously important but we are hoping this will become about more than that. We intend to cover a wider range of topics, from in-depth articles to food-for-thought bitesize chunks of information about mankinds affect on the planet and each other. Don't worry, it's not going to be all preachy and we certainly won't be demanding that you all go and live off grid in an eco-commune with a smelly tribe. We like progress, we just want to raise awareness of the bigger picture.
So you are just a bunch of hippies then?
No! Well yes. A bit. EarthDream.co.uk is the brainchild of one man who has always had some hippyish leanings. The fact is this guy has a young family and access to more information than people in his position have had at any point in history (yes you have access to it to, he's not special), so he couldn't help being concerned about what's going on. Well he tried but wearing a blindfold and sticking his fingers in his ears threw up all manner of problems so this website got made instead.
Sounds good. Not much here though is there?
You're right. We'll be adding content on a regular basis and over time it's our ambition that this will become a useful, and occasionally entertaining resource. Time will tell if we will manage that. Come back soon and find out how we are doing :-)
